midtown loft meets french atelier
Located in a historic Midtown building, this loft is transformed from contemporary to curated.
Service:
Architecture and Interior Design
Scope:
Remodel
Location:
Atlanta, Midtown

Objective & Impact:
Set within Peachtree Lofts - a Midtown Atlanta landmark built in 1952 and later converted to residences - this contemporary loft was reshaped into something warmer and more intimate. History and personal craft were introduced to transform the space from contemporary to atelier.
Previously created architectural components were repurposed throughout, allowing memory and material to shape daily life. The result is a space that feels collected rather than decorated - transforming the loft into a layered urban residence where function, story, and craft are inseparable.
- Loft Character Softened to create a more intimate living environment while maintaining overall openness.
- Privacy Introduced Thoughtfully through custom steel and glass panels that define space without enclosing it.
- Living Room Layout Strengthened with new walls that improve function and spatial clarity.
- Library Presence Added by reworking custom shelving to introduce warmth and depth.
- Kitchen Capacity Expanded with additional cabinetry and improved usability.
- Utility Zones Reconfigured with relocated laundry, upgraded mechanical systems, and expanded wardrobe space.
- Meaningful Furnishings Anchored by heirloom pieces that reinforce a sense of continuity and personal history.
- Barn Door Reimagined as a horizontal headboard, translating craftsmanship into a new application.
- Flexible Guest Suite Defined with custom operable steel panels that maintain openness when not in use.
