Custom Contemporary in the Country
In a sea of contemporary farmhouses, the new kid on the block breaks the mold in more ways than one.

Objective & Impact:
Located in Serenbe, the Proud GreenHome was conceived as a net-zero residence designed to be both a comfortable family home and a clear model for sustainable building. Developed in collaboration between LG Squared and The Imery Group, the project demonstrates how architecture and advanced building science can work together to deliver exceptional energy efficiency, durability, comfort, and aesthetic appeal.
From the outset, the design followed a performance-driven approach that treated architecture, enclosure, mechanical systems, and interiors as one integrated system. Interiors are calm, modern, and refined, with a restrained palette that allows daylight and proportion to shape each space. Vertically stacked windows against textured brick transform the stair into an architectural feature, while durable finishes such as polished concrete floors and custom lighting balance warmth with practicality.Large exterior openings engage the surrounding natural landscape.
Beyond its technical achievements, the ProudGreen Home remains a nationally recognized example of net-positive living - demonstrating that high-performance design can be both elegant and deeply livable.
- Net-Zero Performance Targeted from inception, establishing a framework for energy-positive residential design.
- DOE Zero Energy Ready Home Alignment achieved through performance criteria that exceed standard code requirements.
- High-Performing Enclosure minimizes energy loss through airtight construction, advanced insulation, and high-performance glazing.
- Mechanical Systems Optimized to deliver consistent comfort with reduced energy demand.
- Indoor Air Quality Prioritized through controlled ventilation and material selection supporting long-term health.
- HERS Rating Achieved at -10 with photovoltaic integration, confirming net-positive performance.
- Statewide Benchmark Established as Georgia’s first DOE Zero Energy Ready Home.
