From Dump to Dream
A 1950's home in the prestigious Bayshore neighborhood on Tampa Bay gets a new life.

Objective & Impact:
This 1950s bungalow in Tampa Bay’s prestigious Bayshore area was transformed through a comprehensive renovation and strategic expansion, turning a constrained property into a private, resort-like retreat.
LG Squared reworked both house and site as an integrated composition. The interior plan was fully reimagined to support contemporary living for a family of four, while underutilized alley access created the opportunity for one of the project’s defining features: a protected courtyard formed by the house, enclosed breezeway, and new two-story garage. This outdoor room frames the pool, creates privacy from adjacent homes, and extends the resort-like experience from arrival through daily living.
- Gut Renovation + Addition Completed to modernize the home while respecting its original scale and neighborhood context.
- Interior Plan Reconfigured with an entirely new layout, including a primary suite and large contemporary kitchen.
- Breezeway Connection Enclosed to link new and existing structures while serving as a utility zone, stair hall, and garage entry.
- Upper-Level Program Added above the garage with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a study area.
- Courtyard Privacy Created by positioning the house, breezeway, and garage to frame the pool and shield outdoor living from adjacent homes.
- Front Approach Redesigned with a Spanish Mission-inspired façade and cobblestone parking court replacing the former utilitarian dirt parking area.
- Landscape + Colonnade Integrated to soften the arrival sequence and reinforce the resort-like character.
- Rear Garage Enabled by back-lot access, preserving the home’s front-facing character.
