Apothecary Heirloom

Objective & Impact:

An antique apothecary cabinet passed down from Jodi's grandparents was updated to live seamlessly within a more contemporary setting. Jodi refinished the piece in a deep black to sharpen its silhouette and bring out the craftsmanship, then restored the brass drawer pulls to add warmth and contrast.

Fun Fact - Common in 17^th - 19th century Europe, Apothecary cabinets were crafted from wood like mahogany or oak and often contained dozens of small, frequently labeled drawers for storing ingredients like clove, wormwood, and even toxic substances.
