It was designed and built earn the designation of an ENERGY STAR New Home, which means it has been 3rd-party verified to achieve very high levels of performance, durability and comfort. The final inspections by the ENERGY STAR verifier revealed that the home reached an air tightness level (0.77 ach50) that is , close to the maximum allowable level of the strictest infiltration standards of the green building program known as Passive House, which is 0.6 ach50. The final HERS Index was around 64, which means (among other things) that the home should perform at least 36% better than the same home built to exactly meet the current international energy code.
